Services

Boldmere Court Care Home is registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide the following regulated activities:

  • Accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care
  • Diagnostics and screening procedures
  • Treatment of disease, disorder or injury

We specialise in dementia nursing and long term nursing services offered within our purpose built 68 bedded care home. Over three levels our Care Home offers spacious bedrooms with their own wet rooms with shower and has been specifically designed with the special requirements of those living with dementia or frailty to enable them to live as independently as possible.

Each tastefully decorated bedroom is equipped with an electronic profiling bed, large flat screen digital TV, wardrobe, dressing table and bedside chair and enjoys plentiful lighting and sensor controlled lighting to the wet rooms. We welcome clients to bring their own furniture and pictures to make their room more personal.

There is plentiful day space across the home with over 16 separate day rooms offering a variety of places where clients will be able to socialise with friends, take part in activities or just relax and watch the world go by.

Boldmere Court is a smoke free environment offering quality care in a dignified and sensitive manner to members of our community. It is really important to us that wherever possible our clients will be able to continue their cultural and social links with their friends, family and community and we are building up links with local spiritual and religious representatives.

Meal Times are a crucial element of any quality care home and we seek to ensure through our careful selection of suitably qualified and motivated catering staff that we offer all clients the opportunity to enjoy a varied and nutritious menu. Our staff will be aware of not only the differing cultural dietary wishes of our clients but also differing dietary and nutritional needs due to their likes and medical needs. We understand that food is really important within a care home and a daily menu will offer a delicious choice of dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a hot option always available at lunch and dinner. Together with home baked cakes and lovely puddings we aim for our mealtimes to be one of the highlights of any day.

At Boldmere Court Care Home we provide services for older adults with cognitive impairment due to dementia and dementia related conditions and older vulnerable adults with complex needs. We seek through careful use of care planning tools and best practice to maximise the quality of life of our clients through interventions delivered by well trained and supported staff.

Our staff provide care based on best practice and evidence based practice and will include the use of recognised care assessment tools for on-going care planning. Use of such nationally recognised tools as the Gold Standards Framework for End of Life care will underpin our care delivery and we are committed to work towards accreditation for this standard. Additionally, we also use a thorough Dementia Assessment Tool.

Before admission to the home, wherever possible, a draft care plan will be given to the member of staff responsible for care of the particular client, this will form the basis of the care plan.

Within four weeks a placement review will take place with each client and, where appropriate, their family together with the professionals involved in their care at which the care plan will be reviewed. The key worker or named nurse will organise and arrange a multi-disciplinary placement review, four weeks after admission and six monthly thereafter to ensure the safety and security of the service user. We actively encourage multi-disciplinary care reviews for all our clients.

The Care Plan will be reviewed in the home on at least a monthly basis in addition to the placement reviews. Full involvement by families or advocates is actively encouraged.
